Privacy
Last updated 18 October 2026.
readthepeel.com is published by The Peel. We collect as little as we can, we never sell it, and we don’t use advertising trackers.
What we record when you visit
- Page views: the page you opened, whether you arrived from one of our Instagram, YouTube, Facebook or X links, the website that referred you, mobile or desktop, and your country.
- A random visit ID kept in your browser only until you close the tab, so we can count pages per visit.
- We use no cookies for this, we don’t store your IP address, and we record nothing if your browser sends a Do Not Track signal.
- Link clicks: when you follow a link on our pages to another site, we count the click and where it came from.
If you subscribe
We keep your email address, and which page you signed up from, to send you The Peel. We don’t share it or sell it. Every email will carry an unsubscribe link, or you can write to us and we’ll delete it.
Videos
Our videos play through YouTube’s privacy-enhanced player (youtube-nocookie.com). YouTube may record playback under its own privacy policy once you press play.
Where it’s kept
Site data is stored with our hosting and database providers (Vercel and Neon) and used only to understand what people read and to send the newsletter.
